BROOKLYN - A Williamsburg congregation is honoring FDNY firefighters for battling flames at its synagogue over the weekend.Yetev Lev on South 8th Avenue went up in flames early Sunday, just hours after the Sabbath had ended. While much of the building was damaged, firefighters managed to rescue the holy scrolls, scripture that the Jews consider vital. Firefighters also saved the synagogue's money. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to fire officials.
