Winter storm warning in effect with snow forecast for Brooklyn
BROOKLYN - A winter storm warning has been issued, which means snow is on its way toward the borough.
News 12 meteorologists say that periods of light snow will begin Tuesday afternoon, with the snowfall ramping up during the evening commute and continuing into the overnight. Accumulation totals are estimated to be anywhere between 6 and 10 inches, but could still change.
Temperatures are also expected to drop into the low 20s and teens, and will stay below freezing for at least the next week.
The warning is in effect through Wednesday at 6 a.m., and a citywide snow alert will go into effect at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
