Woman clings to life after Coney Island shootings

NEW YORK - (AP) - New York City police say four people wereinjured, one seriously, during a shooting in Coney Island.

Police said the shooting apparently erupted following a disputeinvolving a 20-year-old man and a teenage girl.

It occurred at 9 p.m. Wednesday outside the Coney Island Houses,near the beach.

Police say the girl's 19-year-old brother got into an argumentwith the 20-year-old man.

Later, the 20-year-old showed up with two other men. At somepoint shots rang out. Police say it has not been determined wherethe shots came from or who fired them.

The 20-year-old and his friends were struck. They were in stablecondition.

Police say the girl's mother was hit in the head. She was incritical condition.
