BROOKLYN - Police are searching for a man Friday who shot a woman Thursday afternoon in Flatlands.

Police say the 33-year-old woman who was shot says the shooter’s name is Elie Merius. The incident happened around 4 p.m. Thursday in front of 1009 E. 42nd St. in Flatlands. 

According to officials, the shooter and victim got into an argument that ended with the woman being shot in the lower right leg. He then fled in a white sedan. 

The victim was taken to the Kings County Hospital where she was treated and released. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
