BROOKLYN - Police are trying to identify the charred remains of a woman who was found inside a burnt suitcase in Ocean Hill.

According to investigators, the suitcase was discovered at 174 Hull St. on March 23, 10 months after a fire ravaged the home. They say it's unclear whether the suitcase was burned in the fire and overlooked afterward, or whether it was placed inside at a later date.

The house has not been occupied, but city building inspectors have been in and out of the area since the blaze. Crews have also been working on renovations.

Authorities have reconstructed the victim's face and released a sketch of what they believe she looked like. They describe her as a black female in her late teens or early 20s.
