BROWNSVILLE - Police are searching for the driver of a livery van who struck and killed a woman in Brownsville Monday evening.

Investigators say Stacey Blount, 45, was hit by a livery van near her parked car on Mother Gaston Boulevard and Sutter Avenue. Witnesses say the driver of the livery van then began driving in the wrong direction on Belmont Avenue, and abandoned the van after hitting a car. Officials say police were following the van, which was stolen, when it went out of control and hit Blount.

Blount was inside a beauty salon picking up a friend?s daughter moments before being struck by the van.

Community members are offering more than $5,000 to find the suspect in Blount's death.
