BROOKLYN - A woman is dead after being struck by an MTA bus while attempting to cross the street in Starrett City.

Fire officials say the victim's body was pinned under the front right wheel of a B82 bus at Seaview and Pennsylvania avenues at around 7 a.m.

According to witnesses, the female bus driver was making a left turn when she hit the woman, knocking her over and severing her arm. They say the driver was in shock after the accident.

No passengers were on the bus at the time because it had not yet made its first pickup.
