BROOKLYN - A woman was taken to the hospital after a fire at a home in Sheepshead Bay on Sunday.

Crews were called to the Homecrest Avenue home around 6:30 a.m.

Despite the cold weather, firefighters say they had no issues, and had the flames under control within minutes.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the basement, the same place where the victim was found.

She was taken to Coney Island Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Officials are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
