BROOKLYN - A new Gallup poll took a look at what Americans think is the ideal age for having kids.

According to the results, most think that 25 is the right age for women to give birth, but men should be at least 26 years old to father a child.

News 12 took to the streets to find out what age Brooklyn residents think is the right time to start a family. Many agreed that mid-20s is a good time because most people are finished with school and are more financially stable.

The poll also found that the preferred age for having kids rises if the person answering the question has a higher level of education.
