BROOKLYN - Daniel Murphy, second baseman for the New York Mets, is getting some flack for his decision to skip the first two games of the season for the birth of his child.

Murphy's decision had local sportscasters fuming, who suggested his wife should have scheduled a cesarean section so he could make it to the season opener.

News 12 Brooklyn asked residents what they think about commentators mocking him and if it makes a difference that he took this time during opening day. Nearly all said that the break was warranted, despite the unfortunate timing.
