BROOKLYN - Friday is National Day of Unplugging, which encourages people to put away their phones and electronics.

News 12 asked residents if they could do without their phones for 24 hours.

Most residents said they couldn't do without technology because they constantly rely on it.

Only one resident, who said he just went through four months of basic training without any type of technology, said he could go a day without a cellphone.
