BROOKLYN - The Olympics kicked off with the opening ceremony Friday night.

During the ceremony, only four of the five Olympic rings lit up as planned because of a mechanical failure.

News 12 spoke with residents to find out what they thought of the ceremony.

Most residents say they enjoyed watching the ceremony despite the technical difficulty.

One resident says it’s a complete waste of money and time.
