BROOKLYN - News 12 Brooklyn asked residents what they thought about the popularity of soccer in the United States.

One Brooklyn resident said that because the NFL has so much money invested in promotions and pushing American football in the United States, it is hard for soccer to take hold.

In 2015, New York City FC, a new professional franchise will begin playing in the 2015 MLS Season, and their home will be in the Bronx at Yankee Stadium.
