BROOKLYN - News 12 Brooklyn asked residents if there has been any improvement in the wage gap between men and women in the workplace.

President Barack Obama signed two executive orders Tuesday to help close that gap. The first will prevent federal contractors from taking action against employees who openly discuss their wages. The second order will require them to provide worker compensation data organized by race and gender. President Obama says what's happening in workplaces right now is simply not fair.

While many Brooklyn residents agree with the president, others said that they have seen improvements.

“I do think there's an improvement but there is still more room for improvement,” one resident told News 12.
