BROOKLYN HEIGHTS - Election Day always falls on a Tuesday, but some local lawmakers are proposing moving it to a weekend.

New York Sen. Tony Avella, Assemblyman Edward Braunstein and U.S. Rep. Steve Israel say the Weekend Voting Act will increase voter turnout. The bill has failed in committee meetings every Congressional year since it was introduced in 2008.

In Brooklyn Heights, one voter says it would be good for people who work during the week. Others say it should remain during the week because people aren't in the mindset to vote on weekends and it would be very hard to make them change.
