BROOKLYN - The World Science Festival kicked off around New York City this week.

Today, part of the festival was held at the Metro Tech Center, and sponsored by New York University’s Polytechnic Institute.

Creators at the festival say they are featuring robots that could potentially save lives, and pinball machines that teach kids how fragile plants survive in the wild.

Organizers say all of the installations at the festival demonstrate the growing and creative high-tech community growing at NYU-Poly.
