Yankees, fans celebrate Opening Day with a victory

BROOKLYN - ? The Bronx Bombers were back on the field today and didn't let their fans down on Opening Day.

The Yankees defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-3.

Yankees legend and five-time All-Star Mike Mussina threw out the first pitch. Late owner George Steinbrenner's granddaughter sang the National Anthem.

Fans battled cold and wet weather to watch their beloved team play for the first time this season.
