SUNSET PARK - Sunset Park residents hope tragedy will bring change to a dangerous intersection with a notorious reputation.A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed Thursday at the intersection of 55th Street and 5th Avenue. Police initially thought the young boy?s death was a criminal hit-and-run. They decided to drop the charges after finding and interviewing the truck driver, who didn?t realize he hit the boy. Sunset Park residents say the intersection is well known for its dangers. They say something needs to be done and they hope tragedy will at least evoke change.
