Witnesses say a young boy was struck by a black Chevy near Herkimer and Sackman streets.

BROOKLYN - Police are investigating after a child was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Cypress Hills.

Witnesses say a young boy was playing with friends near Herkimer and Sackman streets when a black Chevy sedan came around the corner and struck him. They say the driver fled, but came back to check on the boy. He then sped off again.

The boy's family says he suffered a broken leg.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or its driver is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
