BROWNSVILLE - Police are investigating a deadly car accident after they say a man lost control of his truck and killed a young girl in front of her apartment building Saturday night.

Police say the driver, 44-year-old Sean Lewis, had been brutally stabbed in the torso and was speeding westbound down Pacific Avenue when he hit three parked cars.

Investigators say Lewis then proceeded to back up, going the wrong way down a one-way street, hitting one more parked car before his truck flipped onto the sidewalk and crashed into 13-year-old Kirra Goddard's apartment building, pinning the young girl to the ground in front of her apartment building on Pacific Street and Saratoga Avenue.

Lewis was pronounced dead on arrival at Brookdale Hospital.
