BUSHWICK - A youth group from Bushwick worked together over the past year to revitalize a neighborhood park where five people were shot last year.
Members of the El Puente Leadership Center spent the last year working on cleaning up Hope Ball Field.
The group cleaned up garbage and planted new grass at the ballfield. Picnic tables and trash cans were also decorated to help turn the ballfield into a safe haven in the community.
The finished ballfield was unveiled this afternoon. The center plans on holding programs at Hope Ball Field to make the community feel comfortable making good use of the park.
