BROOKLYN - Hundreds of hungry Brooklyn families lined up early at the YWCA in downtown Brooklyn for a hot Christmas meal.

New York City hotels donated food for the event. Local churches and synagogues also donated toys and winter clothing for families arriving at the YWCA. Organizers say the line started forming around 7 a.m., and they say it?s the city?s largest Christmas charity dinner.

More than 200 volunteers made the 17th annual dinner possible.
