NYPD increases patrols to combat spike in summer crime

More police officers will be patrolling the city streets this summer to help combat the spike in summer crime.

As part of the Summer All Out program, more than 1,000 officers are being sent into high-crime areas. The NYPD says this program will help decrease crime, though overall, the crime rate in New York City has dropped.
