MANHATTAN BEACH - Residents are reporting power outages in Manhattan Beach, one of many southern Brooklyn communities still reeling after Hurricane Sandy.

Homeowners have been losing power throughout the evening, with hundreds in the dark as temperatures border on freezing. However, some people say their struggles following the hurricane have helped prepare them for this wintry blast.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is encouraging everyone to stay indoors until the storm lightens up.
