CROWN HEIGHTS - MTA officials say a woman was hit and killed by a subway train this morning after falling from a platform.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on the Manhattan-bound 3 train platform at the Utica Avenue station.

An MTA official says the woman may have become ill before she fell on the tracks.

MTA workers recently backed a plan to slow trains due to recent deaths on the tracks. The MTA says that would only delay trains and create a dangerous, crowded platform.

Police do not suspect foul play in the woman's death.
