EAST NEW YORK - Officials and religious leaders in East New York unveiled a unique program today aimed at getting guns off the streets.

The Guns 4 Greatness program uses private funds and mentoring as incentives for young people to turn in guns. The program was announced at Christian Cultural Center and has the support of the NYPD.

People can anonymously turn in the weapons and receive bank cards in return. They then have the opportunity to be paired with a mentor.

The gun buyback will take place at Christian Cultural center Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
