Seton Hall Preparatory School has officially dedicated its baseball field to an alumnus who now pitches for the Boston Red Sox.
The New Jersey high school held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Rick Porcello, who donated more than $1 million for the field.
Porcello won a state championship at “The Prep” 10 years ago and won the American League Cy Young award in 2016.
Porcello made sure the home dugout was named after his freshman baseball coach Friar Kilcarr, who is currently experiencing health issues.
