Suspect in fatal hit-and-run surrenders to NYPD
A judge set bail at $30,000 for the man suspected in a hit-and-run crash that killed two people earlier this week.
Efrin Lanfranco-Perez, 21, surrendered to police Tuesday after allegedly fleeing the scene of the accident just after midnight Monday morning.
Surveillance video shows a car speeding down Fulton Street before slamming into Delmer Maldonado and Israel Turcios, two fathers who were on their way out of a bar.
Investigators say Lanfranco-Perez called his stepmother after the accident, and she tipped off investigators.
Maldonado's girlfriend, who is the mother of his son, says she is relieved that Lanfranco-Perez turned himself in.
