P.S. 811K students celebrate end of summer school
Students at P.S. 811K, the Connie Lekas School in Sheepshead Bay, celebrated their Summer Blockbuster party Wednesday as students neared the end of summer school.
The students, ranging in age from 12 to 21, enjoyed the end of classes with a bounce house, food and a water slide.
While some would dread the idea of attending school during the summer, it was a major milestone for the students -- who all have disabilities. The curriculum included learning about the upcoming Summer Olympics.
Summer school officially ends Aug. 15. The students then get a break before returning Sept. 8 for fall classes.
