Police: 28-year-old man dead after shooting in AutoZone parking lot
A man has died after being shot in the parking lot of a Brooklyn AutoZone during an argument, police say.
It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday at the AutoZone on Flatbush Avenue in Flatlands.
Police say a group of men were in the parking lot working on a car when the 28-year-old victim pulled in driving a van.
Employees of the auto parts store told police they saw the victim arguing with the men in the parking lot.
Officials say the victim and the group of men got into an argument before one of them pulled out a gun and shot the man in the chest.
At this point it is still unclear what the argument was about.
According to police, the victim drove himself to the 63rd Precinct nearly a half a mile away from the scene of the shooting trying to get help.
Emergency responders were called to the precinct, and the man was transported to Kings County Hospital, however, police say he later died of his injuries.
The victim was able to give officers information about the suspects before he died.
Police believe the suspects left the AutoZone parking lot in a gray-colored sedan.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
