Con Ed asking customers to conserve energy as crews make repairs
As the temperatures continue to climb, Con Edison is asking customers in some Brooklyn neighborhoods to conserve energy while crews work to repair equipment problems.
The company is asking residents in Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach, Midwood, Flatbush and East Flatbush not to turn up their air conditioning too much while crews make the repairs.
The company says it has reduced its voltage to prevent a power outage.

Officials are urging residents to stay indoors, avoid a lot of activity and drink plenty of water.
They say those without air conditioning can go to one of the borough's cooling centers, such as libraries, community centers, senior centers and NYCHA facilities that are open to the public during heat emergencies.
