Crowds flock to Coney Island to beat the scorching heat
The borough lolled under the heat wave for another sizzling day Sunday, sending droves of people to Coney Island to try and cool off.
Many people were out at MCU Park to watch the Brooklyn Cyclones. They sipped on icy cold beverages and rootbeer floats, and donned hats and sunglasses to ward off the scorching sunrays.
News 12 was there, too. Sports Director Pat O'Keefe threw the ceremonial first pitch at Sunday's game.
It wasn't just people trying to keep cool. A mobile pet adoption truck had its air conditioning on full blast and the animals looking for homes were getting plenty of water.
News 12 meteorologists say Monday will see highs around 90 degrees, and Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures in the upper-80s.
