Brooklyn Navy Yard launches free bus service
The Brooklyn Navy Yard has launched its free bus service for 7,000 employees and visitors.
The shuttle system is the latest part of the Yard's expansion. It provides more space for new businesses to get settled, with the hope of offering more than 10,000 new jobs in the years to come.
The bus operates every 10 to 15 minutes at different walkable stops along the Yard and links riders to about 13 subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road.
Riders can also benefit from the Yard's tracking app, which provides pickup and drop-off times. The Navy Yard expects to add further transportation lines to aid all its workers in the future.
