A tractor-trailer carrying garbage overturned in Brooklyn Friday, causing some delays.
The crash happened on Hamilton and Third avenues in Sunset Park near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway around 3 a.m.
Emergency officials say the tractor-trailer was the only vehicle involved in the accident and the driver was not injured. The driver says he was able to climb out of the broken windshield of the cab. The driver belongs to a sanitation company out of New Jersey.
He says he was leaving the 51st Street sanitation depot traveling to upstate Seneca when he was coming around a turn before the truck overturned.
Witnesses reported smelling the odor of trash as crews worked to clean the area and remove the truck from the roadway.
