FBI: 5 detained in Brooklyn no longer in police custody
Federal agents say five people detained after a traffic stop near the Verrazano Bridge overnight are no longer in custody.
The FBI says it stopped the car after it had crossed the bridge traveling from Staten Island to Bay Ridge. Federal officials say the men were observed leaving an area of surveillance when they were stopped.
The men were originally believed to have been connected to the bombings in New Jersey and New York City.
At least 29 people were injured after a bomb exploded under a dumpster on 23rd Street in the Chelsea section of Manhattan Saturday. A second device that did not explode was also found on 27th Street just five blocks away.
