Two subway stations along the 3 line that had been closed since April have reopened.

A total of seven stations along the line are getting renovated as part of an $88 million project, which includes the recently opened Pennsylvania and Saratoga avenue stations.

All of the stations opened up in the early 1900s. The MTA says the renovation was needed to bring the stations to a state of good repair.

For the last couple of months, crews have installed brand-new windscreens, platform lighting, benches, new trash cans and guard rails among other things. On the structural side, new columns and flooring were installed.

Now that the stations are back open, the MTA says it still has to finish some of the exterior work.

The next two stations scheduled to close are the Sutter Avenue - Rutland Road and Junius Street stations.
