Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Blossom Ice Cream
Blossom Ice Cream may be local to the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn, but it's ice-cream making practices have traveled from the far east.
Stir-fried ice cream or rolled ice cream is the process of making heavy cream into ice cream by using a cold disc.
The ice cream is then rolled and served in a cup. Rachael Fusu, the owner of Blossom Ice Cream, says the trend of rolled ice cream began in Thailand and quickly spread across street vendors in Southeast Asia.
She brought the trend to Brooklyn, officially opening shop this year. She says their most popular flavor is lavender ice cream served with strawberries and blueberries.
