New art display to accentuate details of Brooklyn chapel
A Brooklyn artist is installing some unique artwork inside a historic chapel.
A project led by artist Aaron Asis will have long, pink ropes tethered across the inside of the chapel at Green-Wood Cemetery.
According to Green-Wood's website, Asis's art "will work to accentuate lesser-appreciated elements of the cemetery's physical environments, and to celebrate them as places of both memorialization and of public congregation."
"For the most part, it's to get people to talk to each other," he says. "I think that there are so many details in the world, in cities. Just in general. There are so many ways that things tend to operate that we take for granted."
The art installation will be on display until Oct. 20.
