Man in critical condition after hit-and-run on Atlantic Avenue

A man is in critical condition after being struck at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Fourth Avenue Saturday.

Police say they are looking for the driver of an unidentified vehicle that hit a man and fled the scene just before 3:30 a.m.

Officials say the victim, who is in his 40s, was immediately taken to Methodist Hospital.

They say the vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored, later model sedan with New Jersey license plates.

Investigators say they are trying to obtain surveillance footage as they continue to search for the driver of the vehicle.
