Brownsville shooting causes school lockdown
A shooting in Brownsville forced officials to place a temporary lockdown on a school in the neighborhood.
The Department of Education says everyone at the Frederick Douglas Academy is safe. The shooting was not connected to the school.
Police sources say the shooting happened on Sutter Avenue between Thomas Boyland and Amboy streets. One person was arrested.
EMS says it arrived at the scene around 3 p.m. and that no one was injured.
A house was also blocked off by police at the corner of Amboy Street, and sources say the two scenes are related.
