Brooklyn Heights gets historic landmark plaque
A Brooklyn landmark received a historical marker celebrating its rich past.
Rep. Nydia Velazquez joined borough preservationists to celebrate Brooklyn Heights as a national historic landmark and the city's first historic district.
A special plaque was delivered decades after the original mysteriously vanished.
The historical society hopes new visual designation puts a spotlight on preserving historic landmarks for generations to come.
