Police have released surveillance video of a man accused of chasing a 38-year-old woman into her Brooklyn apartment building and attempting to rape her.
It happened on Fourth Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday in Sunset Park.
Investigators say the victim told them that the man followed her from the 25th Street subway station and up the stairs inside her apartment building. She says the man then grabbed her while they were between the first and second floors. Police say they struggled and the victim fell onto the stairs where she was sexually abused before the man took off.
The suspect is described as being 23 years old, approximately 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall and 150 to160 pounds, with short straight black hair. He was last seen wearing a two-toned bubble jacket and dark jeans.
Police say the woman only had minor injuries and refused medical attention.
