Prospect Park Carousel manager to retire after 26 years
Children were treated to free rides at the Prospect Park Carousel Saturday in honor of the man who operated the ride for 26 years.
Lucio Schiavone will be retiring next month.
"Lucio is a cool guy to know and it's going to be hard to be the new person here," says Frank Iozzeio, the new carousel manager. "It's going to be hard."
Schiavone says the children that came to the ride made it all worthwhile.
"They made me happy. It's one of the reasons why I'm still here," he says.
Schiavone's last day will be Dec. 4. The Prospect Park Alliance will name a carousel horse after him.
