Woman seen smiling after allegedly pushing 88-year-old woman

An 88-year-old woman's wrists were fractured after she was intentionally pushed to the ground outside a Brooklyn deli, according to police.

It happened around 5 p.m. on Nov. 18 outside Esther's Deli on 3664 Nostrand Ave. in Sheepshed Bay.

Police say a younger woman pushed 88-year-old Klara Brovarnik from behind, causing her to fall to the ground and fracture both of her wrists.

Surveillance video released by police shows the younger woman smiling as she walks away after pushing the woman down.

Brovarnik was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the attacker as black or Hispanic, with a dark ponytail and glasses. They say they are still searching for her.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
