Williamsburg residents are demanding action from the city and their landlord because they say they have gone without gas service for months.
The tenants of 454 Bedford Ave. rallied outside their building Monday, and have asked their landlord and the city's Department of Buildings for help, but to no avail.
Instead of using stovetops to cook, some residents say they resorted to ordering fast food for Thanksgiving. Others opted to spend the holiday away from home. Some residents are also without heat in their units.
News 12 reached out to the city's Department of Housing Preservation and Development, which says it is actively seeking to coordinate with the owner's repairs to the building.
"HPD's Housing Litigation Division filed a comprehensive case against the owner in Housing Court seeking a court order for correction of all of the violations," the agency says. "Our team is actively pursuing this action."
