Bed-Stuy church hosts forum to discuss community issues

A church in Bedford-Stuyvesant hosted an open forum Saturday afternoon for residents to discuss issues impacting their community.

The Fountain Christian Center invited anyone concerned about gun violence, sex crimes and legal rights to be a part of the conversation.

Church officials, former law enforcement officers and a civil rights lawyer were on site to help address concerns.

Event organizers say they want to see positive interactions between police and the people who live and work in the community.
