Hardware store gets ready for winter season
Some hardware stores in the Bronx are stocking their shelves with snow gear in anticipation of the winter season.
William Pedone, owner of Van Nest Hardware on Morris Park Avenue, said he is already reaping the benefits of wintry weather.
The hardware shop is a staple in the community and has been open since the 1920s. Pedone took over the store in 1999.
He says one of his top sellers this season is a power shovel that has the ability to throw snow up to 20 feet.
Pedone also offers ice choppers, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride and snow blowers.
