Artists, activists raise awareness of city’s housing crisis
Artists and activists are using Christmas lights to raise awareness about the city's growing housing crisis.
The housing activist group Mi Casa no es Su Casa, which means "my house is not your house," is incorporating the lights in posters that they plan to put up around the city.
The posters will be in English, Spanish and Chinese with messages including "No Eviction," and "I'm Not Moving."
Activists say they will be placed outside homes and in community centers in Bushwick, the South Bronx, Jackson Heights and Chinatown.
Many of the people in the group are native New Yorkers who say they are facing displacement.
