Student life center opens at M.S. 113
A student life center opened Tuesday at M.S. 113 in Clinton Hill.
It's the first center of its kind in a city public school. The school's principal says the center is designed to be a place where students can escape and enjoy themselves.
The center contains video game stations, computers and a sectioned-off meditation area with yoga mats and faux grass. An emoji board near the entrance reminds students to check in with themselves and their feelings.
A school administrator says that middle school students have evolved in the digital age, and so too should the schools that educate them.
