Citymeals on Wheels celebrated its 35th anniversary on Christmas Day by delivering holiday meals.
The organization spent the morning traveling around Bushwick, delivering hot meals to homebound elderly community members, many of whom are alone for the holidays.
The holiday menu included pork, rice and fresh vegetables.
Citymeals on Wheels funded over 18,000 Christmas meals, all hand-delivered by an army of staff and 500 volunteers to the city's homebound elderly population in all five boroughs.
The organization also funded the preparation of over 3,000 additional Christmas meals and 110 Hanukkah meals to be served to New Yorkers in senior centers throughout the city.
